For those of you who read my ...I have had an accident threat - http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=25631 - will remember the awful pain I was in. Well I got some bad news about my knee. The Dr sent me for an X-ray a couple of weeks ago as the pain was still bad and I had developed a lump on my knee-cap which was visible when I bent my knee back. Results show that the fall has triggered Arthritis in the kneecap and long bone from the thigh to the kneecap and will progressively get worse. He said short term use Ibuprofen Gel for the pain, medium term a referral to an orthopedic specialist and long term - Surgery! It constantly feels hot and tight.
I find it agony to kneel on it and dreading the school portrait shoot coming up next month, as I usually end up crawling over the floor.
Advice please! my accident happened whilst I was working away from the office. I work for the government and it was reported at the time. Should I now go and explain what the Dr has said or wait until it gets to the referral stage? This has seriously affected my photography side as I dread getting down and not being able to get up.
I will stop whining now.

If surgery is inevitable, I'd opt for that first rather than going through years of pain only to end up with an op anyway. Hope it starts to feel better soon though - take it easy.
