Relaxing after photography with a tipple!...

I'm glad to see there are so many whisky drinkers about  - personally my favorite bottle was the 1974 Ardbeg or the 21 year old Springbank, but I've finished both of those now :'(

At the moment I have a very nice 1972 Brora, 1979 Port Ellen and 1977 Ardbeg on the go, along with what I call my standard set 16yr Lagavulin, Bowmore Dawn (port casked) Bowmore Darkest (sherry casked) and Laphroig. As you can imgine I like my Islay malts, preferably with some age .

I do have a bottle of Johnny Walker Blue Label - but I keep it for visitors or cooking :gag: it's not worth the money IMO

However, due to the lack of any decent (16yr+) malts in most pubs most of the time I'm a Cider Drinker that enjoys a good Dry Cider (preferably Somerset Srumpy e.g. Thatchers please but will live with Strongbow or Magners) although Gin & Slimline Tonic (with Lime) and Bourbon & Diet Coke are in my pub choices too.

go to the romany in northampton they have about 6-9 expensive top shelf whiskeys at any one time

Thatchers - Utter rocket fuel, get you to the moon that stuff.

J.P.Chanet Merlot. It's the cheap one at our local but it's smooth as!

the 1974 Ardbeg
Yikes!!! That must've been pricey! I saw the '73 Talisker that somebody had alledgedly 'found' at the back of the warehouse going for £700 a bottle!

I'm coming to yours for a tipple then!

Personaly, Bruichladdich for me. Nice and honeyed.

Good czech lager when in the pub, and if none, WIFEBEATER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The '74 Ardbeg was £130 IIRC but that was a few years ago (2004), but there was a fair bit of the stuff about at the time.

I have the Bruichladdich 17Yr which I agree is a very nice slightly calmer Islay than some.

Ashers - I used to buy all my Whisky in St Annes "The Whisky Chaser" but 2 years ago the shop I used closed down :'( Even more sad is that they had a bar at the back of the shop where they had over 400 different malts to buy by the shot.

If im in a pub, its Guiness

If Im at home its little cold bottles of strong french lager "petite bierres" as Tescos calls it, or red wine

or woodford reserve - love that stuff

Either a nice cup of tea which I really needed on Sat after being in the cold or a nice Islay Single Malt, can't beat that peaty smoky taste after a days togging.

Depends
If its sunny and warm I may well have a G+T(has to be Bombay Sapphire) in a tall glass with plenty of ice.

Other than that a bottle of Old speckled hen will do the trick
