Yes
I have CS3 installed on a laptop, from work I did a number of years ago, however I don't have the original CD/DVD.

I'm thinking of getting a new laptop and would obviously want/need CS3 installed on that. Is there any way this is possible, without buying it off the shelf again, given I don't have the CD/DVD?

Do you still have the serial number for the CS3?

If so, you may be able to get a copy of the install disc and simply key in your activation code when prompted as part of the install on your new machine.

hmm, I don't have any physical items, just the software installed on the laptop... maybe I can get the serial number details from "About", etc.?

am I right in thinking you can install Adobe products (like CS3) on 2 different machines under the same licence?

I have a copy of CS3 which I use at work (a different copy), only installed on one machine... for the time being I could use the second install on that licence on the new laptop? Or is that cheeky?!

If they are both CS3, then use that disc, but enter your original serial

will that not cause some kind of conflict?

edit - just spoke with Adobe, and yes, if you have the valid serial number you can share the same installer CD/DVD.

excellent! i have found the serial number in the 'about' bit in Photoshop :)

No. The software on the disc can be used with any serial number. The discs are all exactly the same (assuming exactly the same version of the software).
