Hi everyone, what a super website and forum you have here - well done. I am very much at the beginner stage but am keen to learn and am sure this forum will help me. I only really got into photography a couple of years ago when i got a Canon 40d with a 70-300mm lens. Sadly i was mugged at gunpoint (yes really) at the F1 tests in Barcelona this year and nearly gave up altogether :( Crime must not pay though and once the insurance money was in i was back down to LCE here in Gosforth. Slowly but surely i am learning and a 2.8 Sigma is on my wish list for Santa as my long zoom Sigma struggles a little when the light is not with me. Matt
 
A mark I 7D Allan, i really like it but a mark II will replace it in 2017, you know what its like, you have a good one but you always want more ;)
 
I had a 20d a few years ago and really liked it and didn't see a huge difference between it and the 40d to be honest. This 7d is very nice but you're right one only hears good things about the mark 2. I'd love a 1dx but. .....
