Refurbished D300

My local Jessops has a refurbished D300 for £900, as well. Not sure how long the warranty is, though.

I am just intrigued as to why given the camera hasnt been out that long here why are refurbished models appearing already?

Would I be getting a bargain or hold on till the new ones drop a bit more in price?

As long as the price is right and it comes with a warranty what is the risk. At times refurbed items mean nothing more than a damaged packaging. I bought a refurbed 400D and all that was wrong with it was the box was scuffed, everything else was as new.

If you wait for the right deal you can get a new one for £900

I paid £900 for a brand new one from Currys digital online.

I bought a brand new one from Jessops for £950. At the time the cheapest online was £964, Jessops were doing it at £999. 10 minutes chat with the manager and he said he would match the internet price, in fact he said he would beat it so £950 it was. Whether this was a one off I'm not sure, but I certainly had a smile on my face.:)

Is there a particular time of the month that retailers update their prices, ie Jessops lol?

Jessops update their prices all the time. When a price gets changed, we get told the week before or even on the day. Its an awful way to do things, because it often means that we either don't get told, or it gets forgotten which causes wrong pricing. The customer loves it when it turns out the item is cheaper, but they get very uptight when it is priced higher.

Oh, and a Jessops local to our Jessops has a refurbed D300 at £800 with a year's manufacturer's warranty.
You could always take out the 3 years repair plan with jessops which would cost about £60 on the D300@£800, taking it to £860, which is still cheaper than anywhere else.

You do realise this thread is over 2 years old, don't you? :naughty:

Apart from that (and assuming that is a genuine site) the ones in your link only have a 1 year guarantee, suggesting that at best they're grey imports......
I do now (was trying to find info on D300/D300s) :suspect: Am considering changing brands, but D300s is just sub £1000.00 as is D300 (Argos) new, yet on evilBay the D300s is being offered @ £400.00 more! What's the going rate for a decent example D300? I've seen re-sellers pricing D300 @ £740.00 which is pointless due to the new D300s price.

Trying to work out if changing is worth it due to overpriced used D300/D300s compared to new.

NikNak are doing a £200.00 cashback offer on D300s if a Nikkor lens @ £400.00+ is purchased as a package until 31st October which can be registered via the Knock-On website.

The D300s is around £1100 at most retailers, there's a fair chance that if you find one (especially one like that in your link) selling them for a lot less that it's either a grey import (so no Nikon warranty) or a scam...
