Yes
Jessops, under the guise of Clear-R-Gear on Ebay, are doing refurbished D300 bodies with a 12 month warranty for £646.50 incl. p+p.

Before you all rush to get one, they don't have any up just now, but if you're after a D300 then it would be worth keeping an eye on their listings ;)

So Clear-R-Gear is actually Jessops? I did not know that....

Neither did I until yesterday....it explains where all the refurb stuff from their website vanished to....

That is how I got my D200, except mine was faulty, so i took my receipts and what not to my local jessops who took the faulty camera away, went into the back room and gave me a brand-spanking new D200 in the box... couldn't have been happier!

I really really want to make the step to fullframe and get the D700 but at that price a D300 might be the best choice!

Do you have any idea when this might come to fruition on their ebay store flash? (by the way u have a reply to that pm now).

No idea when they will have D300s again, I don't have any connection to the company :lol:. It looks as if they've had a few up recently, in fact it looks as if they have a load of old stuff kicking about too - they had a refurb Canon 10D up this week, I think Robert Capa had one of those :thinking: :lol:

They come up every now and again but they are snapped up in minutes, so you have to have permanent access to ebay. Sometimes it is only one at a time, sometimes several are listed together. :shrug:

Still haven't seen one come up yet on their ebay store :(

I had a look at their sold stuff and all the D300s and 400Ds were going to the camera trade....

A D3 was on there yesterday for, I think, £1865 and several D40's.
The D3 was sold reasonably quick but not immediate as the D300s.

A D3 for that price? Not liekyl!!! ???? !!! :cuckoo::shrug:

I seem to be missing these bargains left right and centre. I wish there were a way to get an email as soon as an item of interest comes up in a shop, with your keywords in it. such as D300, D700, D3 and refurbished.

I emailed their store to find out if this is possible.

There are several ways of finding out stuff on ebay quickly. Certainly you can add saved searches and as soon as an item that fits your search criteria comes on, they email you. Not sure how quick and reliable this is, I use it but not for anything urgent so never checked the time diff between th eitem being listed and the email arriving, they do however arrive at all sorts of times of day, not just same time each day, so I assume they are generated as an item is listed. :shrug:

There is also the ebay pluggin thing for firefox, which may or may not help - again, not really tried out it to any extent, but someone may know if it can help.

Finally, and here is where I am totally clueless, but there is software available especially for ebay, for getting last minute bids, in, etc, is there something that can tell you when certian items become available from certian sellers? :shrug:

Sorry to sound so vague, but I just think that with all the modern technology, there must be a way to be notified of required listings quickly

AFAIK, the only way is to set up a search for say "clear-r-gear", but as the emails only come out once a day it's not going to help nail any bargains....

that is CRAZY cheap!! :cuckoo::eek:

Could you explain how to do these things please? :)

I've got the firefox plugin, but it only lets you know when an auction is ending or if you have been outbid - it doesn't go looking for items for you ;)

If you use the advanced search you can set ebay to send you an email if an item is listed that has the serach terms you used in it's description. It's time based and will expire.

you have to click "add to favourites".

And again today! They get sold within a minute of being listed!!! ARGH!

Does anyone know how much time you get given to pay for an item from jessops on ebay?

It also seemed to be just 2 people that purchased all the cameras this morning... ebay users mahjabin & hatelyr... bet we find these cameras listed as new on their ebay page soon.

The Software you require is an auction sniper, which will place your bid automatically 15 - 5 seconds from the end of auction.
You can mass update you sniper with the items you are watching within Ebay, then you can pick which item you want to bid on set up the bid and leave it to do its work.

I have used one for years and find it very successful in acquiring items on auction.
Altho if you do place a snipe which is not higher than a proxy bid previously entered you will miss out.

I always set a limit on how much I am willing to spend on the product and set the sniper accordingly.

I use auction sentry which quite an easy yet effective program for sniping, you can find it here
Unfortunately this wont be able to tell you what's coming up for sale, maybe setting ebay as one of your home pages may solve this issue.

Cheers

Richard
