I won mine today and can't wait to get my hands on it. :woot:
 
Thanks Ian, got the 1DS at a bargain price as well with second chance offer. :thumbs: Trouble is got to wait 3 weeks to get my hands on it but i'm sure it will be worth the wait.

how much did you get it for in the end out of interest? Im keeping my eye on these and they are consistantly below £3k now :o
 
Some jammy git got one for £2050.
 
that was a scam the one for £2050, i was second bidder at £2k and got a second chance offer but the seller was very shifty, wouoldnt give a phone number or any real photos of it.

I just won one from outlet for £2856 which im happy with :D

curiously it seems the prices of bids on the 1dsIII's all seem to go up at the same time and to the same value, was 2550...

they're not generally ex demo, ive spoken to someone high up in the food chain who works for canon and he said it'd be outrage if they released a new version now, it's only been out 12 months! He said they're gonna be sticking to the 3 year schedule as much as possible, even the 5D stuck to it.

He said they are generally things like shop returns where the box has been damaged or items are missing more than anything :)

(i'm a store manager for jessops and have some decent contacts for info :))
