Refuelling over Iraq

WOOW! Thanks for sharing Simon! "so close I had to switch to WA"!!

Stunning matey

Great opportunity, any stills from the tailgate?

Not Si taking the pics (I dont think).

Could try googling the togs name?

Post back if you find anything.

I wish ... I would donate all my teeth to be in that position !!! I had a look at the photographers site and there is very little. You need to go through his agencies to access his pictures.

WOW that's exciting and scary! I didn't see him change his lens to a WA though. LOL

the video was cut in certain places, I guess he did the switch on a clip that made the cutting room floor

blinking heck that is good..would love to see the stills.. thank you for sharing

How totally awesome is that!!

My god what I'd give to be in that togs shoes!?!

Just to be there would be awesome, but to shoot as well!! :D

You can only imagine the buzz you would get from that, hanging out of the back of the plane would be great on its own but being able to take photies as well WOW.

Lucky guy. Brit Herc refuellers used to have a slightly different set up with a central hose exiting through the modified rear ramp. I had the chance to get this shot over the Falkland Islands, late 1980's. The "hole" is totally open and the hose reel assembly fills most of the ramp. It was a case of lying down next to the reel and crawling forward until looking over the hole. No harness!! I was more scared of dropping my Pentax MX and hitting the Phantom than falling out myself. Sorry to hijack!
