I'd like to get a honeycomb grid to fit a reflector, and use it as a kick/background light for hair/rim etc.
These come in different degree angles..... http://www.lencarta.com/lighting-store/honeycombs
I'm not sure which one to go for, I'd be working mostly in shortish distances (6' ish)....obviously this makes a difference with spread etc.

Also.... has anyone got any experience with using these.

I reckon that 20 and 30 degree honeycombs would do the job, 20 for the hair 30 for the rim.

I use these brackets ALBEIT from another manufacturer and are a fantastic piece of kit which I can highly recommend.

I also have two of these which are handy for mounting PW triggers http://www.warehouseexpress.com/buy-interfit-strobies-xs-bracket/p1031903

Actually on closer inspection I use the ones in your first link, they are very solid and well built, all metal.

I fixed the link http://www.bessel.co.uk/info/Speedlite S-Fit Adapter Bracket.html

I use the interfit xs bracket with my speedlights when I need to use s type modifiers, a very sturdy piece of kit.

Re the grids, get the set and then you can adapt your lighting to what ever the shoot demands. Don't just consign gridded hard lights to the job of rim or hair lighting, you can do some great portraits under hard lighting too.
