Reflecting on this year and it has been a very bad year for many. But I will manage to look back on 2020 and see the the positives that happened to me. The positives being, I lost three and a half stone and I am fitter than I have been for years. I also took up a short educational course, and it was possible for me to complete the course, with qualifications at the end of it. The first and only qualification I have ever managed to attain, and at my old age.

As I said earlier, it has been a terrible year for most. For all those who saw 2020 as a terrible year, I do hope 2021 can bring something a little better.

I did remember I crashed our brand new car the second day of having it, this was a week or two ago. But for the time being, I will focus on the good bits of 2020. :)

No holiday and fewer days out for me. Other than that, just business as usual apart from isolating and all that but Mrs WW has been trying more cooking and is doing very well so at least we're eating well :D

It has been mixed.

Positives: Started a new job which was a 25% increase in basic salary, tidied garden, new furniture and painted house, new drone, done up garage, couple of new appliances, new bike and have been able to spend money on my new hobby, cycling. Had a few good bike rides and some rides with friends on a pub crawl. Nice week in Centerparcs. Son started playing for a different colts team and doing well.

Negatives: The obvious and less trips out, meals and holidays (which I guess pays for the above). Job is OK but left an amazing company and miss the old place a lot.Gained weight and hardly run at all this year. Overall feel more miserable with the situation and do find that the lack of trips out has affected my mojo for photography.

Well done on your positives, in what was not a very good year for most.

I have managed to keep all of my weight of and only gaining about 5LB over the Xmas. Even with the added weight gain, I am still at a reasonably healthy weight, as I was eating healthy and exercising before Xmas. Something I have been wanting to do, get back into cycling.

Was sent to me by WhatsApp....

There are 2 IT bods in the group I golf with - one retired (for 2 years) and the other still active. Both fell for it and thought my phone didn't like their fingers!

Given that we're now in the 3rd wave and todays news of over 50,000 infections I really can't see a damn thing thats positive about 2020, sadly Im not feeling too hopeful for 2021 to be honest either.

My thought,too.

Sadly my thoughts too.

I wrote my post ..obviously just as you were writing yours. You can be rest assured that if us three...so far..feel this way so do many people. I mean, not just in this thread but out there, generally.

I can't wait to forget this crappy year but somehow I don't have much hope of better 2021 either.

Least of all the unexpected last present of the year was / is the terrible stock situation of PC components. So no new PC either :bang:

Very mixed bag here. I started a new job in Jan, first 'proper' job I'd fobbed my way into earned in years - end of March I was out, side lined, not enough work to spread out for the blow ins. 5 months of idle boredom followed. Our hedge and lawn never looked so neat! Early September I got recalled, nice, was so glad to get stuck back in. Other than the work side of things, my missus has become more ill than ever, she's had chronic pain on top of numerous other issues for years and it's just worsening by the month it feels - nothing to do with Covid, she was practically isolating long before hand, but it makes my job that bit tougher as she's vulnerable and I'm the one out and about and I work with other vulnerable people. So far so good though, I've not so much as coughed or sneezed once this year, if I did I don't recall, and I've been following all guidelines to a T when out and about. I work in Health and social care so if I ever dare to forget, someone will remind me to gel and mask up, we also change clothes before and after work and anything we wear in work is boil washed that evening - anyway, being back to work meant Christmas this year was a lot easier than last, probably well over spent but F it, after the year the girls have had they deserved treats. Sadly, our new kitty, Milo, has just gone missing this morn - first time he's been out alone [been mad to get out for the past month], 6mths old [he's been neutered and had all relevant vaccinations] - left the house at 6am, hasn't been since, almost 12am here now so that's 18hrs, apparently they're not 'missing' till 24hrs? - hopefully he finds his way back, and something half decent happens before end of my birthday NYE.

I did have a few plans for 2021, but I just wanted to get 2020 over and done with. I am glad I managed to get an education course done, it was difficult keeping our distance while learning but we managed it. It has been a terrible year for most, but I managed to get something positive from it. I do feel for all those that had a terrible time, such as job losses and those who were effected by the events of 2020.

Sorry to hear your missus is in such pain. My missus suffers a lot as she is also disabled, and we are in the older age group. So we are having to be that extra careful.
We have not been out in ages, and when we do go out it is only to the Doctor for pre planned stuff.

Going out can be over rated.

I'm sat here with a nice hot cup of tea and looking out it's sunny with a nice blue sky but at this time of year blue sky often = COLD. And when I went out earlier is was COLD :D

I love going for an early morning walk, it helped me get rid of all my weight. I went for a morning walk earlier on, but I nearly ended up on my backside. I did get two pairs of snowgrips for my shoes one Xmas, I just can't recall where I put them though. :$

I go for walks often, but not get out as is in out and about visiting and such things.

Cheers, she's not old either at 40, last few years have hit her hard and it is frustrating as she so badly wants to be up and about. She would be in the same category as much older folk, like my Dad who is 71 and is also vulnerable [COPD/chronic arthritis/other related ailments] He actually finds it easier than she does - he gets out for his morning walks and my sisters who live nearby help him with shopping, cleaning etc ... Of course my partner has me to help with all of that, I am pretty much her carer for the past couple of years, but she doesn't get out. She's fainted a couple times when we did try get her more active, just being in a shopping centre can bring it on. Hopefull we get her much needed help in the new year, so many appointments cancelled/re-scheduled this year

There's also a teacher (maths) who fell for it. Got him with the NYE teaser too (and he's stolen it for his pupils to ponder.)

I opened a beer and reflected on 2020 as one hell of a strange year. Yes some good things happened for me, but I like most will remember it for all the wrong reasons.
Glad to see the back end of it.

Apart from my wedding being cancelled it's not been that bad!
My 92 year old grandad survived getting COVID.
We've managed to upgrade our honeymoon and are now visiting Borneo instead of Greece.
Did the cover photo for one of, if not my favourite footballer of all time.
And ended the year with being asked to shoot an ex Premier League footballers wedding.. (I've turned it down cause I don't know the first thing about weddings )
