if i'm taking a photo of a shop window and i dont want a reflection of myself in the window (or at least i want to minimise it) whats the best way to do it?
I mean in a non photoshop way

Circular Polariser?

A polariser may do that but I'm not sure if it will reduce reflections perpendicular to the surface, i.e. you standing square on to the window.

Yup, polarizer as everyone has said.

That aside, often changing your angle so that you're not head-on can work. It's not always practical, but sometimes does the trick. Last night I was filming at an Art gallery and had the same problem, as a result I had to shoot everything from bizarre angles!

Cheers,
James

Have to agree with the above. Polarisers only work from 45-90 degrees to the light source, so if you're looking straight at it (head on) the effects may be limited.

Well if you take a photo of a shop like Budgens or a shop like that you won't see yourself in the picture because they have got white panels on there windows

Take the pic when it is darker outside than inside. That should stop most of the reflection.

or get a big black sheet and hang it over the window and cut a hole for your lens to fit through:shrug:
