Firstly just let me say, apart from recently purchasing from this place via FleaBay I have no connection whatsoever with Joe Bowes or his venture at Redsnapper ... :suspect:

That's out of the way so ... following my thread about the Ball Head yesterday HERE ... this is the web site for Redsnapper ...

A lot more than just balls and heads ... :D

:p

I have just had confirmation from Joe at Redsnapper on a special deal for TP Members ... ...

If you purchase a Redsnapper own product from his web site @ Redsnapper he will offer TP Members a 10% Discount ... ... very generous I say ...

And he is not even a member of TPF himself ... yet ... :D

Now then ... do you think if I return my Ball Head to him from my e-Bay purchase and then buy it for a 10% TP discount from Redsnapper he will notice ... :suspect: ...

:p

Nicely done Rog!

well done ven, very impressed, what do you think of there other stuff? the tripod looks sturdy, but is that a bit heavy?

Cheers Fletch ... :D

I don't have any of their other gear but it all certainly looks like quality stuff to me ...

I am sure if you were not happy with anything Joe will take it back and try and source you something else ... ;)

:p

really cheap, the tripod and head for £90 brand new!(inc 10% TP disc) and if the legs are as good as the heads you got, that is a real bargain! unfortunately gonna have to wait as the missus has stopped any spending at the mo, car services and insurances due over the next couple of months:(

Shameless Bump for the weekend just in case any of you missed this great offer ... :D

:p

Well bumped. I'm looking for a backpack and TBH have been put off by the prices of the Lowepro and Crumpler ones. Might just have to give this one a go. After all it's not a lot of risk at that price!

I'll report back when I get my hands on it.

Thanks for the link and the extra discount:clap:

You're very welcome Ali ...

As you will be the first here to buy one of their Backpacks it would certainly be good to have a review of the item at some point ... :D

They certainly do look pretty good for the price ... ;)

:p

Hi everyone, just joined TP and thought I'd better post a note on this discussion.
I'm Joe from Redsnapper and I appreciate all the positive comments you guys have made - especially you venomater for the referral and AliB for being the first TP customer.
Can I ask on this thread that can anyone from TP buying a Redsnapper product add a quick message so I know to give the discount. I picked up AliB's purchase but may miss others.
TP looks like a pretty good site - I don't know why I haven't found it in the past.
Cheers........

Welcome aboard Joe. I really like my TB32A ballhead.

Do please think about designing a gimbal head perhaps?

Hey Joe ... ... glad you finally posted ...

Well you've found us now so there should be no stopping you ... :suspect: ... it doesn't just look a pretty good site ... ... it is the best in the UK if not the whole 'tog world ... :D

We all like it anyways and we hope you will too ... ;)

Any queries, problems or general questions post them up as there is huge knowledge base at everyone's disposal here ... :D

Have fun ...

Ven... :p

Sunday BUMP just in case you happy weekend snappers haven't seen this yet ... :D

:p

Thanks for picking mine up Joe. I hadn't put a note on my paypal purchase so blindingly good for spotting it.

Hmm. Just been having a look over those tripods - extremely tempting. Don't happen to have any slightly bigger images of them, do you, Joe (or someone that's got one :))?

I've just ordered one to go with the head i got last week  - my Benbo trekker just isn't up-to the new head (3 times bigger than the Benbo head I've already got) and a D300 + lens .

Redsnapper backpack. Got it today!
At first when I opened the box I thought, blast, they have sent me a bag! The appearance is, at first deceptive.

There are two main compartments to the bag which I'm going to call the upper and lower, because I can! The upper compartment rather sneakily folds inwards on itself and there is a handle on top. It looks very similar to my Lowepro Nova 4, just slightly taller.

Undo the upper compartment zip and hey presto out folds the entire upper half of a rucksack, shoulder straps and all.(They could use a little more firm padding for long term use)

The lower compartment is well padded and there is a significant piece between the upper and lower so the lower will be relatively unaffected by what you put in the upper. There are three sections to the lower with a further subdivider for the centre section. A slight flaw in the design is the lack of velcro on the wall of the case to use the subdivider in any of the other two outer sections as I do in my Lowepro.

All the zips are good chunky items and have storm flaps over and the shoulder straps attach by means of metal snap fasteners. There are also plenty of both internal and external pockets one of which reveals a pouch for holding the bottom of a tripod while the top of it gets it's own plastic clip to hold it fast.

The upper compartment is unpadded but is ideal for a flash or waterproofs and sarnies.

I normally carry a 5D, 24-105mm, 70-200mm f4, 100mm macro and nifty fifty as well as a couple of polarisers, filters, spare batteries, charger and cards. The redsnapper happily swallows that lot and I could even take my 580ex. It's not going to take the 100-400mm but then I didn't expect that from a half and half rucksack.

Overall? I'm happy all right. I reckon it's cracking value for the price. I'll still keep my gear in the lowepro for storage and transport but if I'm going to be carrying it for any length of time I'll be taking the backpack.

Oh and one other feature I love? It looks like a backpack. A stunning observation perhaps but from a security point of view unless you strap a tripod to it you would go quite unnoticed.

 from me.

That's an excellent first time review Ali ...

Hi Ali

Quick question can it be used as a shoulder bag? without having to unfold the rucksack part, the redsnapper website seem to suggest this but wondered if you could confirm
Thanks :D

Can anyone who has bought one of these tripods give some sort of comparison with say a manfrotto, are we talking that sort of quality?

Full marks for the discount by the way:clap:

I have just spoken to Joe and ordered the backpack / shoulder bag.

Thanks Joe

Looks like I just found out where to get a decent, reasonably priced tripod from
Thanks for the info

And finally Joe gets Redsnapper a Sponsored Linky ...

About time too m8 ... :suspect:

Thanks for noticing Venomator :p

Hopefully this will keep the interest in Redsnapper going. I must thank you and the rest of the gang at TP for introducing me to this forum - not just from a business point of view either, the help available is a great asset.
Cheers
Joe

Hi folks

I just ordered the tripod and was wondering if the centre pole of my old Manfrotto 728B tripod will fit in it?

Can anyone tell me the dimensions of the centre pole on the RedSnapper, and is it cylindrical or multi-edged?

You could drop a PM or e-mail to Joe at Redsnapper ... ... I am sure he will tell you all you need to know ... ;)
