Hello,

forgive me for the ignorance of this question but I just bought the red snapper RS-284 tripod with the RSH-12 ball head (my first tripod), and was wondering what the rulered nimbers at the panning base are for?

My guess is angle?

Also, what is the friction knob for if the locking knob basically does the same thing?

Thanks,

Mike

You guessed right, for panoramas

Yes, it does pretty much the same thing, but allows you to slacken the head to a partial friction setting without fiddling with the main knob. A marginal benefit, I would agree.

You can adjust the force needed to move the camera depending on weight of equipment and lens etc. using the small knob. I adjust mine so i only need a quarter turn on the main knob to allow me to readjust. Have fun with it, i have the same head quality at an affordable price.

Hi, bit confused.

Looking at pictures of the head there are three knobs. On the main body are two, one of which I presume is the Fast Framing Control. On the ball part there is a further knob which looks like the quick release control.

So...

The remaining knob on the main body - is this for the pan or the friction? And whichever one - how do you control the other function??

Maybe I am being thick - not the first time:thinking:

Help!

Cheers
