Hi, so after reading all the reviews on the forums I splashed out and purchased the Red Snapper 283 tripod. It was delivered today and I have just came home from work, it looks to be a mighty fine tripod indeed....but,

It being my first tripod I have made a pretty stupid mistake. I took it out of the box and bag and continued to set it up, but on one of the legs I twisted the rubber lock too far and the last third of the leg and a couple of plastic things fell completely out:'(

I put the leg piece back in and tightened the lock and everything is perfect, but anytime I untighten that part of the leg it always drops off, as I have the two plastic things sitting beside me. Is there anyway i can join the plastic clips back on and push them back up into the middle part of the leg as it was at the beginning??

Silly mistake, i was just too eager, please help...

Thanks dude, just did. Tripod is great, just that loose leg, if I could get the two small plastic bits back to where they should be then it will be 100% again

Good luck in fixing it! I did the same, trying to get grains of sand out of the joints after a beach photography sessions. Despite Joe sending out replacement plastic bits I could never get it back together properly (when I put it together the joints seemed to be locked) and I ended up abandoning it and buying a Giotto one on Amazon instead. If you need any spare parts and are in Glasgow, let me know!;)

Did the same thing last year and after an hour or so from trying ending up snapping the darn thing in frustration. Shame as was a lovely tripod otherwise but ended up getting a manfrotto with a quick extension mechanism so no chance of that happening again and much lighter.

Hi, if you can send me a contact email address I can send you an attachment that should help.
Regards
Joe

If anyone else out there comes across this thread and has trouble assembling a joint, remember you can always send your tripod back and we'll reassemble it for you with new parts if needed and return it - normally free of charge.

There you are. Cannot get better than that.
Got a Redsnapper recently and think it is excellent.
BTW - the instructions mention how far to turn the twist locks :)

Yeah as I said before, the tripod is excellent, and it was my own silly mistake, just twisted too far, although i doubt I am the only person that has never read instructions beforehand :)

Hi Joe

I have tried everything and still cannot get the leg into the upper part with the 2 plastic pieces on the side. Very frustrating, is there anyway I can send it back for repair/replacement? As I only got it yesterday I don't wanna force any part of the tripod incase of further damage, can you let me know what comeback I have or how I can get a 100% working tripod again, thanks.

Matt
