Hi People,
I need a hand, I took this picture, the venue was really dark and as a result the red eye was the worst. I’ve tried using lightroom and photoshop to take it out but it doesn’t do it very well. Is there some other way I could sort it without making the eyes look fake??

Any help would be much appreciated

Thanks
Chris.

i've had a go in Photoshop.. the only way I could do it was to copy another pair of eyes and pasted them onto hers.. a little dodge n burning and curves edit, .. and it looked quite good :D however you dont have image editing enabled so i wont post the outcome.

Unless someone else has another idea.

Hey Sammy, sorry i thought i had image editing on, feel free to post it I’d be interested in what it looks like. good idea by the way!

Here's my attempt. Also had a play with the skin tones. I'm trying to learn how to do this,
Still a lot to learn though. Did'nt know what colour the eyes shoud be.

Chris, if you want my honest oipinion there's some things Photoshop just can't rescue. there's no detail at all in those eyes to be recovered. Changing the eyes will totally change her appearance. I think you can just about make out that the eyes are dark brown I think, but that's about it. These are someone's wedding pics and there's not room for too much Photoshop jiggery pokery.

How serious is this - were you the main tog - is this the only shot or do you have others to fall back on? If this shot isn't critical in any way then charge it up to bitter experience. If you absolutely have to fix it then about the only reasonable chance is if you have other shots of the bride's eyes taken at a similar angle.

hey cheers guys and girls, i wasn't the main tog just taking a few pics while i was there, i just liked the picture and thought i maybe able to fix it, i must admit KI User and K1026143 your one's are very good, i'd reall like to know how you did what you did.
thanks to all that tried, well appreciated.

Chris.

Well there's no big probs then Chris and no damage done. The pic is great for Photoshop practice, but the lady wouldn't thank you for handing her wedding shots where she looks like she's had an eye transplant.

That's some serious red eye -about as bad as it gets.

Sorry for the late reply, theres a few different ways of doing this,
Create a duplicate layer of the bride, using the pen tool, and start selecting the area you'd want the replacement eyes to be, feather around the area by about 2 pixels and cut or delete the selected area, get a layer of eyes under the duplicate layer. using the erase tool smooth out any areas that may be looking unreal, dodge and burn any other areas. and lastly I brightened up the whole image.
