Recycling Computer Stuff in Derbyshire

Now that my new PC is finally up and running, I need to get rid of one of my older PCs. I just wondered if anyone in the Chesterfield area knew of a recycling facility for computer stuff. As well as the PC there is a scanner but it's for an XP system.

It seems such a waste to have to throw stuff like this in the skip but I guess it's a reflection on modern life. Talk about a throw away society.

Lots of options, eBay for 99p 'Buy it Now' collection only or if you have a local Freecycle group (check Facebook) and there is always Gumtree. Whatever you decide make sure data is well and truly wiped before parting with the hardware.

you local tip should have an electronics section where they'll strip and recycle.

just remove your hard drive and jam a drill through it, or smash it with a hammer.

I had this same problem recently, in the end it went to our local recycling centre/tip minus the hard drives as I couldn't find anywhere for it. Being 5-7 years old it wasn't new tech so no where really to take it, it's a sad reflect on technology now, just think of the number of unused mobiles there must be.
