Recording onto a pc - what Microphone ?

My daughter is getting pretty good on the violin so we are hoping to make some recordings of her playing and put them onto a cd as Christmas presents for the grandparents.

So, I need to get a fairly decent microphone to plug into the laptop - any suggestions ?

Obviously it doesn't need to be amazing, but I do want something better than the cheap little things that people use for skyping etc. Any suggestions ?

Budget as low as possible, but up to about £10 - £15 I guess, or am I hoping for too much ?

Should anyone have one they no longer use or want to sell then please put up an ad in the classifieds and let me know !

You won't get much for your budget I'm afraid (certainly not something that would sound any better than a cheap headset).

As a minimum, you would really need to spend at least £50 to get something that will provide adequate recording quality.

Hmm - I figured that I might have been asking for too much but thanks for the reply and help MarcM.

I guess it'll be worth a look at ebay for something second hand as I cannot afford to be spending that much for just a few minutes recording. I'll try contacting the people in your link as well.
