Recommended cover for Nikon 200-500?

I'm finding that my lens scares the birds so looking at trying out a camouflage cover to protect and also hopefully reduce bird scare. Anybody have any recommendations? What do you guys use?

I use Lens Coat on all my long lenses… one is even black.

I didn't notice that a large black lens disturbs wildlife but I
like the extra protection against scratches, dust, and rain.
 
You are more likely to spook the wildlife with the front element of the lens i.e. through movement of a reflective surface, not a dark coloured lens body. I would imagined that if your lens body was white then this will help mask it, but they are mostly used for protection.

You like your expensive things Kodiak :-). Maybe I will be fortunate to find somebody who can donate one to me at a cheaper price, especially as I'm so bad for keeping things for long lengths of time!!

I see, it would be nice not to worry so much when it starts to rain. At the moment I run inside with camera and lens as soon as it starts, are there any other items you guys use to allow you to use the camera and lens in the rain? Is it advisable? Maybe I need to practise how I swing my camera from carrying to taking a photo. It seems to be when I lift the camera up from my side that the birds get scared.

Ooops, I should say, maybe somebody could donate one - or give me a cheaper price than new. £100 is expensive!!
 
A bin bag will suffice for when it rains before you get your cover, fits over everything.

Are you looking for the neoprene covers or just a waterproof?

You'll end up buying both anyway if you're anything like me, lol.

A waterproof would probably be something I'd be after for both the camera and lens
