So, I've gone Mirrorless and until the screen protector arrives it's staying in its box! All I have so far is the olympus omd em10 with 14-40 kit lens literally. However I will likely add one more lens by Christmas.

Im really looking for some help choosing a couple of bags, ie one for just simply round town etc and one for walking ie a daysack type?

I'll be honest, I don't really want to spend a fortune on either but realise that the daysack type will likely need to have some decent money spent on it as it's gotta be comfortable!

So, my budget for the round town bag is in the £50 area and Im open to suggestions on the daysack /rucksack type (any walkers in?)

I have the bag you need on the classifieds it's a Think Tank Urban Disguise perfect for around town for all your gear
It's close to your budget

we got my mum a little bag from castle combe cheap but doubt thats possible now, but think tank stuff is great :)

It all depends on how many lenses you'll want to take out with you.
I prefer a very small belt pack to avoid having a bag swinging around. My pack just contains 1 or 2 small lenses with the camera being on a shoulder sling most of the time.

I use a Lowepro Fastpack 200 for my Panasonic G2. The bag is designed for a DSLR but I store my G2 in there with one lens on and the other lens in a separate compartment. I also have some cables, filters etc in the various compartments of the bag. It has a side access for the camera. Its quite comfortable although I have never walked more than 3 miles with it. The top part of the allows you to carry other items. My only criticism is that as a rucksack it doesn't have a belt strap for round your waist. If you want such a strap the FastPack 350 has one, however it has a separate Laptop compartment for a computer. I did not this

I bought mine second hand on ebay. I see a company on ebay selling the 350 new for under £40, there are plenty of second hand ones about also.

The reason I did not go for the Think Tank Urban Disguise for my CSC is that it looks too much like a laptop bag. This "disguise" makes it more desirable to thieves than a bag that looks like a camera bag.

Alternatively, maybe a pouch which fits inside an existing bag? I use a Crumpler Doozie Shoulder Camera Pouch inside my normal day bag. Shown in the pouch is a Fuji X-T1, 35mm f/1.4 underneath the 18-55mm (with a padded divider in between), Cokin filters and holder plus Expodisc. The top has space for a couple of memory cards/batteries. Mine's bright pink, but they do come in more sedate colours!

The ThinkTank Mirrorless Mover 20, 25i or 30i would be worth a look. Sensibly priced too.

Spend £8 and if you don't like it you've only lost £8....... I use mine all the time for EM-5 and three lenses plus assorted gubbins ..... different colours available.... :)

Well that's been beaten with the ugly stick Derek. I guess nobody will ever steal it though

I have a Lowpro Apex 100 AW and my G1, GX7 or A7 all fit in nicely when fitted with a prime so I suppose it depends how big the zoom is.

I like small bags and to keep the bag bulk down if I'm taking an additional lens I might just put it in a pocket.

Do you want practical or pretty? :D :D

The last thing I want is a camera bag that screams 'CAMERA BAG!'

I use a Think Tank Retrospective 10 for walkabout, perfect for Sony A7r with 24-70, 70-200 and a prime or two for something a bit more special.

Those little pouches your primes are stored in look great. If you don't mind me asking, where did they come from?

Cheers,

Simon.

Hi Simon,

Its not my video but I have the same bag, however, I used to use sunglasses soft pouches, they are ideal in my experience because they arent bulky and you can also use them to clean the lens safely, so dual purpose.

Mine were Oakley branded microfibre but these look similar...

Thanks all for the suggestions, sorry for the delay Ive just finished another stretch of 12 hour shifts :-(

Anyway, looks like theres a couple of bags that Ive also run across on my googling ie the thinktank mirrorless mover and the lowepro event messenger.

On the camo one, not for me, had bags like this before and the ergonomics just dont work for me.

The thinktank retrospectives are just too big for what I need so something about the size of the lowepro event messenger looks about right

So, probably the mirrorless mover or event messenger is going to do me.

As for the inserts, i like this idea for flexibility but then I will be back to square one looking for an appropriate bag to put it in that I need to be weatherproof too.
