Hi,

I purchased 350D in the summer and since then I haven't bought too much for it, my collection of toys includes:

350D
Battery Grip
18 to 55mm kit lens + skylight filter
Sigma 70 to 300mm APO Macro lens + skylight filter
Tripod,
Remote release trigger
Infra-red studio flash trigger.
Bag

Can anyone think of anything else which is a must have?

I would like a nifty fifity at some stage so thats one for the list.

I tend to attempt all sorts of photography, such as landscapes, motor sport, studio ;), portrait

I was thinking of a 1.4xtc but not sure if it would work with my lens body combination

The nifty fifty is a must Rob - especially for £65!
I'd recomend a 600mm L glass for those moon shots of yours too! :thumbs:
 
Polariser and ND filters (Cokin or Lee) so you can put your tripod to good use.

1.4II extender so your 70-300 becomes a 156 - 672 :D (including crop factor).

A second battery for the grip would be useful.

Dont think the Canon II extender is compatible with the 70-300 though:thinking:

Sorry - didn't realise it dropped to f5.6 at the end of it's range.
 
Decent Flashgun perhaps ... although whether you actually must have any of these ... or even the camera ... may/might/must be purely subjective ... :thinking:

It wont.
It only fits with specific lenses (read L series and not all of them).

The TC protrudes forward so most lenses wont fit

Thats saved some pennies then, keep buying my premium bonds with the hope of winning the top prize then I can buy a lens for all occasions ;)
 
Kenko teleconvertors do not have protruding elements so will fit any EF mount lens, and as they do not report their presence to the camera you can still use auto-focus.

I'd go with a flash gun next, the on board flash is useless with a decent lens fitted, you'll end up with a great big shadow across the image.

Oh come on why bother with the 600mm, if your getting a long lens make sure you get one that will do the job. Don't forget a 2x TC too :)

You'll not need to walk the mile up a beach at the next meet.

The price doesn't matter if you can't carry it... Thats what I am telling myself anyway!

Price is not the problem. Availability could be an issue as I hear there are only 10 now in existence.

Obviously this will add time and more expense Im sure;)
 
If you take a lot of landscapes then the cokin filters system with some ND grad filters are a must.
 
I found that the infra red remote was rubbish as you always had to be in front of the camera for it to work......so go for a cable release.

Good point, also the cable remote allows you to carry out manual time-lapsed photography.
