Recommendations...

Hey guys,

Im attending quite a few concerts this year and living it up before i get married in February 2014 and then its "whats mine is hers" and all that :razz: and hoping to get some real quality pictures of the day/evenings.

There will be a mixture of indoor and outdoor (stadiums). I really don't fancy taking the dslr as its going to be a bit too cumbersome for my liking so was wondering if you had any recommendations of some extremely good compact cameras or the CSC type cameras? (maybe a bit cumbersome too if i have to change lenses over).

One of the concerts is a meet and greet with one of my fave bands so i really wanted something quality for the photo opportunites afterwards

I know one guy who make a bit of living from it,he when for the Olympus OM-D,last time i saw him he was very happy with the results

I'm not much of an expert on CSCs but speaking from experience, I have a Sony NEX-C3 which has served me well so far.

It produces great results on auto settings with the kit lens... Which seems really strange when you're used to DSLRs!

It also copes really well in low light, which means that I've been able to snap away at gigs, festivals, parties, nights out etc. without worrying about changing settings or lenses... So I guess that would suit your laid back lifestyle for the moment!

No worries I didn't realise the NEX-C3 had come down in price so much... Mine was about £350! It really is a great little piece of kit though.

Have a look at the Sony RX100 - I bought one for my missus, with the intention of taking it back whenever I'm heading to a gig

I'll be using it for the upcoming Biffy Clyro gig at the O2 [Dublin] in March, I think it'll be well up to the task. I do know that it's very capable, a bright Zeiss lens, though variable - It's great up to ISO 3200, it's light as a feather, completely pocketable and shoots RAW. What more would you need?
