I expect to get home tonight to find that postie has delivered the Creative Zen which I purchased from a member of these forums.

I've bought the Zen primarily to replace the dying mains-powered serious hifi tuner/amp and attached cd player and speakers cluttering up the bedroom, to give better sound than the laptop and to be able to take favourite music away on holiday.

I need some speakers: they can be battery powered, I'm not looking for concert hall performance but essentially for an improvement over the laptop.

Ladies and gentlemen of these forums, I'd love to hear what you'd recommend or recommend avoidance of please.

Many thanks in advance:wave:

I think Creative do their own dock and there is a head phone socket on it. Just then plug in some decent PC's speakers.

Most manufactuers only seem to do stuff that is compatable with bloody ipods. The creative players have always been better.

Aha - got you there!

You tried to dodge answering my question by replacing it with another question: Decent pc speakers.... without going all game player sub woofer/woofer/small dog/tiny ickle brown job birdy/amp/pre-amp... what have you got in mind?

Creative GigaWorks T20 Series II or the T40 Series II for a little more oomph.

I've got a pair connected to my decks and they're amazingly powerful for such a small object. They certainly pack a punch whilst still retaining the sound quality.
