i live in london where the m4 ends, and i'm looking for somewhere i can go out today and take the missus.

what do you guys recommend?

needs to be less than 80 miles away
can be by train or car
preferably somewhere that makes the most of the decent weather
somewhere the missus will enjoy too

you've got until 12pm to come up with something good.
dont fail me now!! :)

Gotta be the coast somewhere on a day like today. Suffolk/Essex/Norfolk some lovelly places all the way up the coast. Think I will go my self now. good luck

How about Broadstairs Kent. Some nice old buildings there, coast, opportunities for candid shots, good ice cream parlour, fish and chips only £1.75 ( when I was there last year, may have gone up a few pence now) and the weather is usually good on Isle of Thanet. It's nice this morning anyway, my oldest daughter lives there and just spoken to her.

Is it that much! Blimey!

Consider the coast then, except on a day like today you'll never get parked after lunchtime I wouldn't have though - certainly not in Bournemouth which must be about 80 miles.....

Richmond park, the wetlands place somewhere in the Hamersmith direction, Chilterns for pubs walks and landscapes, Kew gardens if you (or your wife) like flowers and that sort of thing, Hampton Court (may be a bit touristy though), all sorts of National Trust places.

Don't forget to let us know where you went.
And post some photos !

Keith. :)

I believe there is also an aeromodelling weekend going on too this weekend at Shuttleworth so lots of bearded types flying model planes. Only know because I was one of them (only without the beard, I'm a young-un)

Stowe Gardens, Buckinghamshire - take a picnic too :). Most holiday traffic will be heading south and west today, so going north should be a better option

Took the in laws there a couple of weeks ago. Very close to silverstone (The GP was on when we were there and we could hear it). You could always "Nip to the loo" a few times! ;)

Head for oxford/chipping norton. Lovely walk, Blenheim Palace, Morris Photography Ltd

should have come to dungeness with the motley crew . good day out , great company .
