Just picked up a shiny new iphone5, have never bothered with cases before on previous iphones as prefer the 'naked' feel of them. As this is a lot of money i am tempted to try to protect it from the start. Whats the best way to keep it perfect, nothing too bulky though.

I got a 'tyre' case to try it out for my HTC.

Quite like it actually (bit of petrolhead), quite grippy softish rubber so doesn't slip off stuff - it will sit on the dash whilst I'm driving, not the tightest fit to phone. I've been using it 9 months now and its looks just as new and phone is fine.

Not saying its the best or to everyone's taste but I'd get one again over a hard plastic one.

EDIT - I didn't buy it from that specific supplier and paid around a fiver for it.

I've got the snugg rubbery one. Stops it being so slippy. Put a screen protector on the front then it's protected against scratching and mild bumping. To protect against proper knocks and dropping you'll need something bulky.

I got a thin clear plastic one, beware of small bits of grit getting under it, mine has a few digs in the back of it now.

I would heartily recommend the Speck pixel skin cases... I have one on my IPhone 4s and they're brilliant. One if the issues I have with big bulky cases, is that they can sometimes reach their edges right up to the screen edge, which makes pressing the very edge of the screen difficult.

The pixel skin cases are more minimal, but retain their robustness.

For the Iphone

Griffin Survivor Extreme-Duty Case for cellular phone - Black Silicone, Polycarbonate

Makes it water proof, scrath proof and you can throw at walls and dosent do a thing. I did have S1 Landrover phone as like phones that don;t break asI drop them and fall out car doors a lot.

Another vote for the Extreme Duty case. It's nice having a small demure iphone case, but there's nothing like one you can pretty much beat someone to death with.

I've used this since day 1 on my iPhone 4 along with a screen protector. It's survived a few low level drops and the phone is like new underneath. I'm sure they must make one for the iPhone 5.

I've got a bumper as well but really don't like how it makes the phone feel but the Casecrown is perfect.
