hi all can anyone recommend me a small camera that takes a sd card has a screen on the back and is simple to use and good quality picks,im in tenerife at the minute and need some suggestions and i can look at some prices thanks guys

You haven't given any idea of budget, but the Fuji X20 is a superb bit of kit which can certainly be used as a P and S, but is capable of so much more too.
 
How small?

I tried the 'enthusiast' P&S range and ended up going back a stage and picked the Canon S110. Small,light, hardly know I'm carrying it. In a jeans pocket...
 
sorry probably cig packet size upto £70 ish
 
Even new you might find difficulty picking up a good compact for that price. Try one of the Panasonic Lumix range.
 
Wouldn't a smart phone do, assuming you already have one?

Currys/PCWorld may have a Fuji XF-1 left. Slightly bigger than a fag packet but still very pocketable.
 
I have been using a Fuji X20 for over a year now. It is rock-solid in operation, robust and if there is one thing to recommend it over all other things it is the under/over exposure dial on the top plate. This dial can change an average picture into a great one just by changing the exposure and it's so quick. The zoom is not huge which is another reason I bought it as it encourages me to go and find the shot rather than bring it to me. If I had one criticism it would be that the widest angle is 28mm and if there was a similar camera that had a 24mm I'd buy it.
 
XF-1? (25-100mm 35mm EFL) Same guts as the X-10 behind the wider (and marginally faster at the wide end) lens but missing an OVF. EC accessed by a button rather than the X10/20's separate dial.
