Hi all,

Can you recommend me a program;

I am looking for an programme for when I plug in my SD card into my Macbook, I can sift through to delete the reject ones, before I then import the picks into Lightroom to edit. This will keep my Lightroom library free of reject images.

It needs to be able to load images quickly, be free or cheap and work on a Mac.

I have looked at PhotoMechanic but at £149 its far too much for me to consider.

Why not use the flag facility in Lightroom? Import your images as usual then flag the rejected shots with the flag with a cross. Then press control and backspace which brings up buttons which allow you to delete the flagged shots.
 
Will this delete them off the disk, from what I remember there is an option to delete from LR and then Delete from LR and Disk? If I remember rightly, If so that could be an option, I hadn't thought of! Thank you
 
There are indeed options to remove from LR or delete from disc.
 
When you import into Lightroom, the import module automatically places a tick in each images preview box in grid view. This is the select option. Unticking this stops Lightroom importing the image.
