Recommend me a monitor please!

I am trying to take my photography more seriously and am finally coming to realise the limitations of my monitor. It's a Benq E2200HD, which has served me well considering how cheap it is, but the downsides of a cheap TN panel are really beginning to hit home as I go deeper with post work and printing.

I typically spend many hours each day editing images so it seems crazy to restrict myself in this pretty important department. I would like to invest in a new display, with image editing the number one (only!) priority.

I guess I could probably stretch up to, say, 600-700 pounds. I may be able to push that if it's really worth it.

I see a lot of recommendations for lower end stuff like the Dells, or really high end like Eizo and NEC. What is there that sits in the middle range price-wise?

I should also really invest in a new calibration device at the same time as the Huey Pro I have owned for a number of years has never satisfied me - when it 'calibrates' the colours, my screen ends up with a distinctly greenish cast which is obviously not correct! So, if someone has a recommendation for a calibration device and monitor combo which will perform well together, that'd be great to hear too please :)

I like that it has hardware calibration - does that do away with the need for a separate external device? In many ways it might work out more cost-effective than a different monitor and separate calibration tool.

You can get a Dell ST2220T touch screen IPS LCD for £186 plus they will give you a refund of £90 (£80 + £10) postage for your old monitor (can even be an old CRT screen but I traded in my old LCD). Dell stopped this deal for a whild but they have started it up again so grab a bargain. 21.5" IPS touchscreen for under £100

Its a good screen and photos are so much better on it than my old screen!

All Eizo's do that, I still prefer to use an external device, I am still using a Spider 2, the thing is with these monitors the calibration holds pretty well, when doing the before and after check there is usually little difference.
 
I'm quite tempted by a Hazro now - you seem to get al ot of bang for your buck in terms of image quality with them, anyone had any experience with them?
 
A mate of mine has an Hazro ans it is stunning. He loves it and the TFT is what you use the most with a pc so well worth the money
 
Ordered the 30" wide gamut Hazro, will report back on how I get along with it soon :)
