Here we go again  I have been asked to do some wedding shots for someone I know in May. I have no problem in doing it as it will be a very small affair and I have done a few before, however my only concern is the church. It is a very small one, I am happy with covering the rest of the day with the 50mm 1.8 and the 70-200F4 but after popping into the church the other day to have a look about the 50mm is not going to cut the ice as far as a wider view.
I will be allowed to creep around the back of the vicar during the ceremony :naughty: whilst the bride and groom are in front of him, so whilst I have that window of opportunity to capture the bride and groom in a couple of shots I would also like to include more of the family sat either side in the pews, if they were oof even better. So if anybody could suggest a lens which they think fits the bill then that would be great.
Thanks

Have you thought about the Canon 28mm F1.8, would be wide enough on your 50D and sucks in a lot of light. You can use it at f1.8 with no problems, a lot better than the 50mm.

Well to be honest Liam I have not looked too much into it at the moment ;) but the 28mm would be a contender. I should have mentioned it does not need to be a Canon lens either.

Sigma 30mm f/1.4? Larger cnstant aperture than the Canon 28mm.

+1 for the 17-55 IS

I'd agree with that too, actually; the range will be versatile in a church, and the f2.8 coupled with the IS will mean you don't have to worry so much about lighting. It's not as if people are leaping about like chimpanzees in the middle of a wedding ceremony, eh?

Mr. DonnaM has a 17-55 f/2.8 IS for his 50D. It's as sharp as a tack so has to a contender.
