Recommend me a flash/umbrella bracket please

Hi

I have a very cheap and worryingly unstable flash/umbrella holder which fits to my light stand.

I am looking to upgrade it to something a little better, though I don't use the kit much I would like something that I don't worry my flash will fall off!!!

Is there anything I could get for a reasonable price?

I would go for the Manfrotto 026 Lite Tite Swivel + Umbrella Adaptor http://www.amazon.co.uk/Manfrotto-026-Swivel-Umbrella-Adaptor/dp/B000JLO6OG A touch more than £20 but they are really solid and will last a long time. I have never used the bracket linked above ^ but it doesn't look like the build quality is in the same league.

Very solidly built - and heavy with it. Just to be clear on a few things: there is no flash hot shoe included, you need one to mount a flash on the brass threads.

But can't I attach my 580 to the shoe that comes with the flash and then screw this on to the brass fitting??

Yeah just use the one that came with the flash, I use a frio cold shoe http://www.amazon.com/Frio-ENLFRC1A-Shoe-Mount-Tripods/dp/B004CBTCFC but the OEM one will be fine

These are all metal and really strong, this will attach directly to your 580 or a hotshot style trigger

These, so good and cheap. Its solid metal! ok so it doesnt look all shiney and black like manfrotto but it does the job and will last.
