Hi all, i've just discovered the forum after speaking with a friend. I'm about to buy a 40D and upgrade my glass to a Tamron F2.8 25-75, Canon 50mm F1.8 and a Canon F4 L 70-200. I've got a cheap and nasty rucksack bag at the moment for my old 300D but it won't cut the mustard for the longer lens.

So, can you please recommend me a rucksack type bag that can take the above, plus possible a little room for extras?

well i would i say go for a lowepro mini trekker as it will hold all of that and more, plus its quite small. if you can find one have a look at the micro trekker 200 its smaller but should still hold that equipment you mention.

Another vote for the MiniTrekker. Big enough to take a reasonable amount of kit but still small enough to use as carry on baggage on most airlines (but check before settinf off!).

You could do a lot worse than get one of these currently £49-99 + "2.99 shipping. Very, very good bag.

I have in mine: 1Ds3, 300L f4, 200L f2,8, 100L Macro, 24-70L, 1.4x & 2x Extenders plus 12mm and 25mm ext tubes. 580 EX II in front pocket.

I am just thinking about to upgrading my lowpro AW100 to on of the Kata 465i. (because of size not quality) Looks like a brilliantly designed rucksack and has good value for money.

The Kata looks interesting, but from the pics it doesn't look like it would be able to store the 70-200 attached to a 40D body, i.e. something relatively long, or am I missing something?

The Lowepro Mini Trekker is a great bag if your after a rucksack type, Crumpler also do some very nice bags if you prefer something a little different
