Talk Photography Forums - Numerous
Without sounding like a crawly bum lick I've probably picked up more real world advice, tips for photography, PP and most importantly inspiration on here than any book could possibly give me. Photographers like PeteMC (HDR & urban landscapes), HIMUPNORTH aerial landscapes), Diego Garcia & Dod (sport), Pixl8 (macro) and many others too numerous to mention make this one of the best sources on the net. I've tried many other forums and none are a patch on this, some are just downright rude and unfriendly and others (usually aimed at a certain brand) are full of anally retentive Americans who over analyse everything and are distinctly lacking in the sense of humour department.

There, I had to say it!

:D :D :D

   @ Hacker

As the list grows, I will list all of the mentioned books in the opening post.
Should make a good reference point for the future.

'Capture the moment' by Steven Swain is a highly accessible run through of modern wedding photography

The Photoshop CS2 Book for Digital Photographers by Scott Kelby is a fantastic photoshop book even if his brand of humour does wear thin after a while.

Lonely Planet - Travel Photography by Richard I'Anson is a handily sized reference to take with you while on the road.

How to photograph absolutely everything - Tom Ang

I've just ordered understanding exposure and the wedding photojournalism one.

Understanding Exposure, I might look into that one.

Just checked, and our local libraries dont have it...cheapskates :p

I'm quite a fan of John Hedgcoe's photography books. He illustrates his points using minimal words but lots of photographs which makes them very easy to understand. Some of the photos look rather dated but his points remain true. I often dip into a Hedgecoe if I'm looking for a bit of inspiration.

i cant help it if im scared of me camera...

Dude you are a star, I think I may have sourced a copy, but if not I'll let you know :)
