recomend me some metal

back street symphony is awesome, one of my fav songs

THE best live rock band ..... EVER! Gutted they're splitting but we're booked on 4 dates of the '20 years and out' tour starting next weekend!

current musical tastes varied...... but of a radiohead/placebo/garbage phase atm but I'm looking for something a bit outside that maybe so it needn't be a restriction

i'm a bit of a fan of all of the above.
metal is a bit stronger than I normally like
so i will recommend some good old fashion vocally lead, guitar based - RAWK.
I'm quite partial to a spot of Audioslave and dab of Alterbridge at the moment chaps.. *** *** ***

I like a band with a good strong vocal, some genuine guitar talent (instead of just shredding) and the ability to be lyrically strong and translate well to an acoustic set. but that's just me.

for my faves, try youtube a rooney ing for
audioslave, shadow on the sun, sound of a gun, be yourself, Show Me How to Live, light my way, Shape of Things to Come
alterbridge, one day remains, rise today and before tomorrow comes

Audioslave
Wolfmother
Black Stone Cherry

Try those for starters ;)

Oooh.

You can`t beat a bit of Angel of Death by Slayer.

I used to clear out our local snooker hall when they had a compilation CD on the jukebox with it on..

Don't forget 'South of Heaven' and 'Mandatory Suicide'. Two raspers.

Evanescence - OK, more female vocals, you may be getting a hint I like that in metal. These have two albums, both with a fairly different sound. I'd say try the second but if you are youtubing it any track will do.
I think there two of the best produced albums fullstop, let alone within the rock genre.
Really well produced considering the relatively new entry into that scene.
Great, accessible way to get into 'soft' rock. New album next year apparently.

Just been putting the last two slipknot CDs onto my ipod, not bad I`ve got to give them a proper listen though.

Just bought a couple of albums today that have straight onto the Ipod -
Back in Black - AC/DC
Gojira - The Way of All Flesh
Mastodon - Crack the Skye

A few more recommendations:

Testament- good ol' 80's thrash
Korpiklaani- folk metal with accordians and violins
Blind Guardian- power metal (epic Tolkien themed)
Manowar- heavy metal- about how awesome metal is :D
Equilibrium- EPIC. Nothing else needs to be said!

And for stuff a bit heavier, try Behemoth, Belphegor, Deicide, Enslaved and Immortal.

Just don't listen to the All Hope Is Gone album :)

Their first album is best, IMO.
