Can anyone recommend some good ones for flash guns?

I had a good set of 8 for something else but didnt use them for a while, now if I use them in flash guns they only manage a few flashes before they die.

If anyone knows of a good charger as well that gives an indication of when its finished that would be useful.

Another vote for eneloop also have a few 7dayshop good to go but mainly use these for the kids toys and eneloop for the flash.

Same here. the 7dayshop ones are slightly lower powered than the XX's, so yes, the kids have those, and i keep a firm eye on the XX's

I have 12 of these HERE always served me well without any problems :)

Indeed, did you get that charger or were you just posting a link for those looking?

No, but it's on the list

I'm like you I think, just bung them in a rapid charger and use them. And so far so good, but I don't often use batteries heavily and always have spares when I do.

I know it's not good practise, especially when they come out too hot to touch, but I'll wait until my current/old Eneloops are FBER'd and then get a whole new bunch of XX-Eneloops with that charger :)

I'd be interested in how XX-Eneloop recycle times compare. Are they any faster, or just higher capacity?

I know using these intelligent chargers are better in the long run but after using a rapid one for a good few years ive not noticed any downsides, other than they do get hot very quickly.
I tend to use them in all sorts of gadgets and ive not noticed any loss of charge over the years. I do tend to rechrge the XX's and the higher powered ones quite a bit, they never run out but id rather not take the chance.
I mentioned in the other thread about a wireless system. This tells you how long the device will run for when you insert the batteries, and its always shown the max amount of time (7 hours). I only use them for 3 max though so i might not be noticing any defects appearing.
I dont have any of the lower end Eneloops, just the XX's and the 7dayshops ones, so i cant say for sure if they take longer or not, and ive never done a discharge/recharge cycle on them.
Maybe i should and see what happens.
