For 25 blood donations, boosted the past year by being a platelet donor.

I know some on here have probably given a lot more but just thought I would mention it,:) especially as I hate needles:eek:.

I must get round to donating again, thout I haven't been able to for a while (tattoos and travel with work means they wouldn't even look at me!)

The first time I donated I got roped in by my boss. Me and a mate went to laugh at him (nice, aren't we?) as he's scared of needles. A particularly pretty nurse asked us if we'd give blood...well who were we to refuse?

Well done.

They won't let me do it any more.

But, its a worthy cause.

Doubt if they would have sent the old matronly type over to ask you:D

Well, can I just say thank you. As a motorbike rider I've known several people needing life saving transfusions. My wife also donates, I wish I could but I have a really bad phobia about needles.

Thanks, needles scare me too, when I gave blood for the first time I was terrified, but did it for the cause, I would lie flat so I could not see what was going on, bit more difficult giving platelets as you have to be sat up for that but I look away when being hooked up to the machine and have my arm covered from view during the donation which can take up to two hours.

Congrats Mal

Thanks Dave.

I feel all warm inside now:) :thankyou:
