As above, I've been looking at the Epson R800 but it is a pretty old model and I have read some bad reviews regarding blocked nozzles.

Could anybody point in the direction of a quality A4 photo printer?

Cheers.

Blocked nozzles on an R800? odd, but easily cured if you do happen to get any. Any photo printer you can buy today will give you great results, the R800 at about £200 or the R285 for less than £70 are both fine. Someone will be along directly to sing the praises of Canon too :)

I have been using an Epson R800 for a couple of years..great prints ..but i think the blocked nozzle problem only arises if you dont print that often..mine has blocked a couple of times due to not being used but is soon cleared using cleaning the facility:thumbs:..hope this helps.

I use the canon pixma ip4500, its an awesome piece of gear

I'm the techie in an epson service (express) center. If you use an R800 fairly regularly and stick to the genuine ink you won't get any problems with blocked nozzles. The epson stuff has a cleaner and a lubricant in it to look after the nozzles, so even if they do block its easy to unblock the ones that have always been fed genuine epson inks. It is an older model but it still gives great results, noticably better than a 6 ink unit like the r285.

I have a hp photosmart D7260 bought after wining best a4 in canons photo plus magazine
