Reccomend a changing bag...

Get a large well known make off ebay, I recently picked up an LPL, MINT+++ except the elastic had gone in the sleves, £1 of bungee cord and new, cost £2

Basically they are much of a muchness, unless you decide to go for one of the calumet tent style ones. They are a bit bigger but you have more room to move round in them. I use the bog standard black bag with arm hole type and its fine for loading a couple of rolls of 35mm into reels and then the tank. I am not sure I would want to do anything more fiddly in there though!

I've got an old 'Phago' changing bag which is fine for rescuing films out of cameras with but now I'm doing more 4x5 I'm thinking of investing in one of these Calumet Changing Room, they come highly recommended and give you a bit more space to work in.

I bought a generic one from West End Cameras - just make sure it is big enough (you'll be surprised how much space you might need for manoeuvring ), and that it has adequate sealing - mine is zipped then velcro'd over, and it has been light tight.

I went for a patterson one from Ag-Photographic, plenty of space and its double layered for light-tightedness :D

Had a roughly tshirt sized one with a thick plasticky outer and thinner cotton like inner that zipped open at the bottom which was fine but the thin inner material sometimes droops down and gets in your way.

Got given another one with an enlarger recently, this one is about the same size, maybe a bit bigger and still double layered but this time the inner layer is stiffer like the outer so it doesn't droop. This one also has no zip, you load though one of the arms with is wider than the other.

So, in short, maybe go for one with a stiff inner.

Cheers, seems to be a fair bit of variation - think the Calumet one looks to be what I'm after, will go for that after the Holidays.

Thanks again folks!

Could be as I'm still using mine after 40 years..it's the type with a zip in the front (with flap to cover the zip) and two elastic arm holes

Pretty much the same as mine. Mine is double skinned with two zips though. Does the job (after patching it up when there was a light leak!) with a couple of rolls 35mm. I will even try 120 when I manage to finish the roll in my lubi!

Another vote for the Calumet changing room, had mine a while now and it works fine. Lots of room and very little dust.

Using a "normal" one with the two arm holes which is fine for 35mm and 120 use. A little cramped but nothing I haven't gotten used to. Best thing I did was fork out the little extra to get a cotton one, as it doesn't gt hot inside and therefore no sweatiness after fumbling around because you have 2 35mm films in there and one just won't go on the spiral...
