Reasonable priced / Reasonable output A3 Printer

Hi, I use an Epson B1100 which I bought new a couple of years ago for £200. It is a bit slow but gives good results for photo printing. I have used it to print images for my LRPS and at an advisory day was told the print quality was perfectly acceptable.

wont get one that does B&W for under £200 I'm afraid. going to have to spend double that

Hi all,

I am looking at buying an A3 printer. Predominantly for black and white prints. I use a Macbook, latest OSX. Budget <£200.00. Don't mind buying second hand if there are some older capable models that people swear buy?

Any A3 printer recommendations?

Thanks in advance.

:)

Mel, the Canon Pixma Pro100 is about £310 with cashback at present and is the cheapest you can get one with decent B&W output for. A small warning- the printer is big! I am thinking of getting one but am not sure I have the space for it!

I'd happily store it for you Jim, plenty of room oop north :naughty:

My eyes have been well and truly opened. Printed a few small prints at home and the general sense of having an idea for a shot, processing it, then printing it and then sitting back and looking at the finished product - amazing!

If you lived closer I would have happily gone halves and shared one!

I printed out a pic in black and white and although it was ok, I wasn't totally happy with the black/grey tones.

Simple solution.....move to Yorkshire ;-)

Not if I can help it!

The best way to print B&W is by having multiple grey cartridges in the printer. The Pro 100 is the cheapest one with that available.
