Rear LCD stopped working on EOS 50d

Hi

I was just taking some shots on my 50D and the rear LCD is no longer working!!

Just wandered if anyone has had a similar issue and managed to resolve it, before i send an email to the retailer!

My situation was - tripod, remote release (hahnel HRC280), Live view.

Took picture on remote (have used this before a number of times without issue - same with camera in other settings).

Tried removing battery to solve, pressing all the buttons.

Rest of the camera works fine (top LCD, taking pictures, looks like activity when accessing "play"). Am having to use EOS utility to finish up the shots!

So any wisdom would be greatly appreciated!
 
Have you inadvertently pressed the 'info' button as one press on this switches the rear lcd off. Press again twice to get the standard shooting info back.

thought it might be something like that, but have tried every combination of button i can. Still nothing (multiple info presses - holding it in too).

Hmmm... Not heard of this issue before.
 
Just done a power drain reset (taken both batteries out powered on to drain).

No joy either, guess a proffessional checkup is in order.
