Really off topic - Vodka and food dye

Sorry this is soooooo off topic but we've bought for a girl at work, who is leaving, a male torso shaped bottle and then thought to put Raspberry Absolut in it. Little did we know (not being Vodka drinkers) that the Raspberry Absolut is still colourless, it's just the bottle that's coloured.

I have just put it in the male torso bottle and it does not look right.

My question is, can we put cochineal food dye in it or will it taint the vodka?

If we can't - has anyone any suggestions how to make it coloured rather than clear

Dried chillies, 6-8 of the wee vicious buggers in the bottle, keep it in a warm place for a week or so then pop it in the freezer till it goes thick and syrupy. A couple of shots of that and she won't care what colour it is!

put coloured water in the bottle and give the vodka as another gift :shrug: they get to keep gift one on display AND drink the voddie, will look like you got them more that way as well!

We ended up just giving her the bottle with the colourless vodka in, she liked it and didn't really care that it was colourless, just that it was Vodka. I've just had a text from her to say that it tastes lovely as well
