So, to recap for those of us still on their first cup of coffee this morning...are you or are you not getting paid?

By 'kindly' deciding not to take payment because you are an amateur, you achieve the following:

a) it's a cop out; meaning that you have no faith in the standard of your photography and expect to screw up and then use the excuse ' well you weren't paying me'.

b) if you get it right, or manage to get a few keepers/in focus shots, then you will have taught yet another media outlet that they can expect to get their photography provided FOC-even if the quality is dodgy.

c) you are taking a job from someone who could use the money.

d) you lower the standard of images that viewers/media clients expect to see.

In other words you have royally screwed up. If a job is offered as paid, then you take the money, end of story.
If you don't have the cojones to charge for your product, then you shouldn't take the job on in the first place.

No you cant, it's blatantly obvious from your time on this forum that learning from others advice is clearly something you have no bleeding idea about at all, in fact you clearly insult those who have spent time and effort with you and been driven to the edge by yout stupidity.

I'm a bit puzzled by this, you seem to have edited the thread that said you had told them you didn't want paid - why do that? If you have made a decision to not get paid then you should have good reasons for doing that. But you must have known the reaction you would get on here by saying you were going to do it FOC?

If they have looked at your work and asked you to be an official photographer then they must like what you are producing and you should get paid for it.

As usual in these threads the reasons why you shouldn't do it for free are clearly spelt out.

So good luck with the job and I hope you manage to renegotiate with them and get paid.
 
I have to say i either missed or didnt notice the freeby bit when i replied.. or did it come after my response? everyhting been edited :(

Correct but he's also for some strange reason edited that bit about them willing to pay him out of his original post :lol: :lol:
 
I know how you are feeling guys...I'm a plasterer to trade and I done a 5 year aprenticeship to get qualified so it annoys me when some 6 month'er comes along and does a job for half the price I would have done it for. It's even worse when their work is up to standard.
