Just a bit of a random one!
Is everyone ready for the new sports seasons?
Any new kit?, Any Problems? .. I'll start it off.
Im excited for the new footy and rugby seasons with my new sigma 70-200 f2.8 and new Canon gear, Really looking forward to building up a stronger sports portfolio for college, and hopefully I will get some work published.

I like your "Wrong ball mate" Photo

Best of luck in the season ahead Mark :)

Same I can't wait last seasons rugby I was using a lumix TZ3 now have a 550D with 70-300is usm and a cheap but effective monopod

still looking for the best but cheap rain cover, if you have any suggestions... great

All ready with kit thats working :D but you should know by now that you can't post a link to images taken of football league teams :nono: you've been told enough times Mark, i know it sucks and you want to share your work but if the wrong people see the shots then you and PNE will get a kick up the Arse from Dataco

cant believe you have posted that link Mark.. how many times?

Footy starts this next sat 10th for me.. first pre season friendly.. still doing loads of cricket and it overlaps with footy to middle of sep... I ahve a brand new 400mm f2.8 on the way and will have by next weekend so am well into that :) and a snip at 5.5k :)

Link's Gone - It was an old post, Best wishes for the new season.

Think I win on early starts then. This Thursday (8th) for Cardiff City's first pre-season friendly. Away to Bath City. Doing this one as a warmup before doing some paying work for a new agency. Some of you already know which one and I'm not jinxing it by telling you all which one until everything is signed and agreed.

Already shot my team playing footy at pre season training :)

First pre-season match for me is on Tuesday. I've also shot the team for some of pre-season(covered about 20 minutes for 2 sessions).

However, I'm not meant to publish photos that include pictures of trialists, making it a bit more difficult when there was a load of them for a while.

Just need to get the headshots for all the players organised(and coaching staff), and get some group shots of the new guys for the local papers.

How does that work? :)

I double checked wiht the manager as usual if there was anyone he didnt want publishing and for the first season in ages he said nobody... I wait until the week before the start of seaosn before doing team and head/shouders shots.. even then it tends to have a quick sell by date with trialist leaving and new players in first month

I've to get photos of the guys who've already signed. A couple of them are local to the club, and another 1 was chased by a load of clubs, so the papers want pics of them. I'd expect by the time i take the pics, most of the trialists will have signed anyway.

I covered Burnley's first pre-season session on Thursday and it was a very relaxed affair and you could go were you wanted to.

There was only myself and one freelance who was covering it for the other local newspaper and the club and it was so different to last season when Burnley had just been promoted to the premiership when there was Sky, BBC and a few agencies there.
