Hi

Looking for some advice, laptop's died (motherboard), but there is some info I want to pull off the HDD from the laptop.

Does anyone know if there is a cable I can get that would enable me to plug this into my pc ?

Thanks

A

I bought one of these adaptor kits a while back and it's helped me out many times, it's easy to connect ide or sata hard drives to your pc and salvage data.

I also have/use an adapter like above as it saves opening the machine to connect up a drive. Laptop IDE drives don't fit straight into a desktop but if your drive is a SATA then it uses the same cables as a desktop so you can fit it direct (assuming you have a spare power/data cable available) to save time/cost of getting an adapter.

Cheers

Yes box says its a serial ATA drive. Will have a look at the links and see what looks like it'll fit ...

Thanks

Just an update - popped down to our IT dept and asked about a cable - managed to borrow a USB docking station from them to read it.
