can anyone tell me how to use a usb card reader as i can't seem to open my raw files [computer illiterate] in canon digital photo prof and their are no instructions with reader sandisk extreme.:help:
 
You should be able to download from your Camera or from a Card Reader directly via USB.

Plug in reader and you should get a pop up box. If not go to windows explorer and find the Canon removable drive.

Just drag and drop where you want them to go.

You can download a RAW viewer for windows which willk show you the thumbnails too.
 
Your computer will just see the card reader as several removable drives, (assuming it's the multi card type) and will assign a drive letter to each. In your editing programme click on 'open' and browse to the drive letter which represents the slot you're using in your card reader. Click on the drive which will show the card. Click on the card and the thumbnails should all load into your editor.
 
Thanks guys, have the thumbnails up but when i take card out of reader they disappear i guess there's one more thing to do.:shrug:

LOL. Indeed. You need to download the images to your PC. I don't use the Canon software but one of the icons will be to download from the card to your PC. You'll be able to specify where you download them to.

It pays to download your RAW files straight away. That frees up your card for re-use. You should always keep your original RAW files anyway. :)
