have replied again with details so let see what they say

got a helpful 'we are out of stock' reply.
bit stupid that it says it will be delivered on the 18th of january and then you have to contact them to find out where it is. then they reply that its out of stock, but dont even tell you when it will be back.
if i collect from store then i think i lose my quidco (which was the whole point)

i have been waiting for them to have the lx5 in stock for delivery
they have had 3 cashback deals now and still not had it in stock
15% 20% and now 10%
 
still waiting for my 7d
still says it will be delivered 18th january

customer service said they can confirm its available to buy but not in stock (wtf??)
then when i sent a complaint they said they will pass it on to the complaints team but that regrettably I wont receive a response... err??
 
Well that sounds like they'll take orders and fulfill them when they get stock. If you believe they will stand by the special offer. Did they say when they were getting stock ? I don't believe a company of their size doesn't know when they are getting stock......

According to their website it is out of stock if you want to order online, so I think what you have to do is wait until it's in stock again and see what happens. In the meantime I would be speaking to the citizens advice bureau, trading standards,advertising standards or whoever and find out what your legal position is.

Certainly they have a good reputation in the US for customer service...obviously the Carphone Warehouse tie up isn't doing wonders for that.
 
well they kindly cancelled my order today without warning.. so it was all a waste of time.
ordered one from Kerso instead.

however if i still get my quidco i'll be laughing
 
Just as a final update to the BestBuy Saga,

My Order was the 16th Jan 2011, Cashback of £340 (20% of the full amount inc VAT) tracked straight away. Changed from tracked ot Validated 17th Feb 2011. Then nothing till today.

Finally paid on the 17th April 2011, so 3 months from Purchase to getting the 20% back, but still very happy that it brought the price of the 5DII down £340,

Also put the discount vouchers in the 5DII box to good use against some new glass.

So its been a long saga but the cashback came through!
 
I've just been paid £315.51 which included £148.50 for a 60D purchase back in November.

I did have my payment limit set to £300 though.

Was going to use this along with some Xmas cash I found for a 70-200 F4.

Now thinking of maybe adding the extra and getting the IS instead, decisions, decisions.
