Yes
20% off at Best Buy with quidco until midnight tonight!

I've just looked at a D700 - online price £1694 (already £65 cheaper than warehouse express)

using quidco I will get a further £338 off

Brand new D700 £1355 delivered was holding out for a D800/D3s but at that price I think I might just get one ordered!!

Matt

Excuse my ignorance but how does this work ? Do you get the money off the purchase when you checkout or does it come back to you via Quidco ? I've never used Quidco or any other cashback schemes.....

You sign into quidco, then link through to the site and you then get the money back through quidco to your paypal or bank account. It can take a few weeks-months, but definately worth it.
In fact I just had a £20 payment this afternoon sent through from some purchase on ebay and just eat.

Whoah... 20% !!
Incredible bargain on most things really, shame their lens selection is quite poor.

Tried to order, but having problems accepting cards. Check out their forum too and Twitter.

Hmmm.

I'm about to buy a D7000 so worth having! They are overpriced at £1099 but obviously after the 20pct that makes them somewhat more competitive.

I almost feel like going for the D700 at that price…....

D90 body comes out at under £500 too.

how do you get to see all that is available? cannot see d700 on best buy, do you have to have to register to see more?

Everything should be okay, but remember there is no guarantee with quidco.

Remember to clear your cookies when using quidco, especially if it is for a significant amount of money.

Seems almost too good to be true, going to order a D700 just off to watch my big fat gypsy wedding first!!

Was a little too good to be true, tried for an hour to order a D700 but failed at the last hurdle! I'll be on the phone to Best Buy first thing in the morning lets see if they do the honourable thing and give me the 20% off. It has after all been technical issues with there website/payment system that has meant I have missed out!! I'll report back tomorrow.

I'd be careful with Quidco, me and my sister are still waiting for cashback from two Xmas's ago, they aren't replying to emails neither have they paid any money into our accounts. I did mention in a reply the small claims court but nothing as yet
I hope you get yours though and they pay, it's a lot of money to rely back on that's all.

Quidco forums, Bestbuy forums, Hotukdeals forum, money saving expert forums and others all have people posting there with this problem.

I would hope that this issue is addressed by Quidco in one way or another. Maybe not have bestbuy on their site again.

Discretion got the better part of me....I only wanted the D7000 body which would have been roughly £900 after discount. That's about £50 cheaper than it can be had for elsewhere but with none of this cashback hassle. Plus to get that deal I would have had to buy the kit and sell the kit lens as the body is out of stock....not worth it IMHO.

Certainly from what I can see their prices seem to be at least 10% over the odds on most things so it's not really 20% off anyway. Good marketing ploy though.......

its 20% off of the pre vat price as well so take the vat off then the 20% off of that price
then add your vat back on
i have had no issues getting cashback from quidco it just seems that best buys payment system is causing the issues

Let us know how you go on with Best Buy Big Matt
Dave

spoke to Best Buy this morning who basically said 'yeah we are aware of some issues but we're not honouring the discount sorry!'

I've written a complaint letter to their customer relations department so let see if that does any good!!

Why would best buy offer such a deal through quidco if they can't step up to the plate and honour it! If they had no intention of letting 'high value' orders go through as mentioned on other forums why didn't they include such restrictions in the terms and conditions of the offer.

I'll get the 5D from Kerso instead. I will never use BestBuy again and have sent letter to trading standards.

Disgusting

I don't think they had no intention of honouring it, I ordered a 5D MKII at £1699 on the 16th Cashback tracked at the full £340 within an hour and the camera was delivered this morning (Probably the best packed item I have ever had Boxed, Bubblewrapped, Brown papered padding and yet another box! I thought they were deliving a Washing machine by the size of the box, so  for that,

I think the system was getting hit with lots of high value orders towards the end, and maybe the merchent processing system weas thowing problems, it rejected my card payment ther first time but after speaking to my bank it went though OK.

Bought a 60D kit from Bestbuy back in November for £989.99, Quidco tracked at £148.50.

Has not been paid yet though but I'm used to merchants taking a long time to pay.

Likewise, I get the feeling it was just a scam, chances are that had the purchase gone through they'd have emailed tomorrow saying the camera was out of stock, or it was an error, or some other bs

Yes it's all too easy for retailers to do this. I saw something similar when Marks and Spencer reduced some very good wine by something like 50% in their recent sale. There was a thread on another forum where two or three people had the transaction confirmed only to be told the next day there was an error and they were cancelling the sale.

It makes no difference whether the VAT is included or not.. drop the ex-VAT price by 20% and the with VAT price also drops by 20%. No need for convoluted mental mathmatics.

They are paying cashback at 20% on the full price not the Pre VAT PRice (Despite what it says o nthe website).

Paid £1699.99 for a 5DII and the cashback tracked at £340.00 (20% of the full price not 20% of the X VAT Price)

When did you place your order?

When did you place your order?

Placed my order on the 16th the credit card was rejected so I called my bank who advised to give it 5mins and try again as they needed to allow the transaction, when I tried again went straight through, tracked straight away on Quidco, and the Body arrived today,

I understand a lot of people have had problems there are issues posted on a lot of forums, although I think its more a payment auth problem raher than aimed at stopping Quidco transactions, several people mentioned once they spoke to their bank the transaction block was lifted, seems strange but sounds like sometime messed up in the autorisation process somewhere.

my card got rejected too (HSBC).. HSBC called me about 10 secs later to check i hadnt had my card stolen..

but other than that, its all gone fine.. quidco tracked immediately and now i'm just waiting for the 7d to be delivered

quite sure it wasnt a scam as bestbuy are one heck of a big US based electronics chain.

In Fact BestBuy UK is a 50/50 venture between BestBuy USA And Carphonewarehouse, so a fairly substantial operation by any means,

Hope your 7D turns up as well packaged as the 5D I had (Not Eco packaging by any means - But very secure!!)

No problems here. Went through first time, tracked same day in quidco and Panasonic GF1 arrived today as expected. Good comms, very very well packed.

That's odd, they haven't taken the money yet either

Hi Gary

If they are like Amazon, they don't take the money until it is being processed ready for sending.

I suppose the question is, what does "in progress" mean ?? Might be worth a quick call

thanks for the answers guys

i e-mailed them about the issue and forgot to include anything other than my first name, so needless to say they didnt know much about the order :)
have replied again with details so let see what they say
