Having a bit of a brain-fart I think. I've been asked to submit some images to a wedding blog and the want them at "....740px wide including portrait...."

Surely they mean 740px on the long edge right? How on earth would I export both landscape and portrait shots at 740px wide?

Thanks in advance and apologies of it's blindingly obvious......I'll just blame the heat :)

You can do it. I often export images at 1080 pixels high regardless of portrait or landscape orientation for slideshows on HD tellies. On the export dialog, select the resize option that allows you to enter both height and width, but only enter the width value, ensuring that you leave the other completely blank. LR will then resize all the images to be 740 pixels wide regardless of crop ratio. Hope that helps.

Ben you absolute gem! I was putting 0 in as the other value instead of leaving it blank and LR wasn't having it!

As I said, this humidity is melting my brain :) Thanks!!

Or when exporting you could just use the file sizing>long edge option.

Won't work I'm afraid, sizes everything to 740px on the long edge whilst Danny wants everything to be 740px wide independent of whether it's in portrait or crop orientation [ie images could be too narrow if you specify 740px long edge for portrait images].
