RC-6 Remote 2 second delay?? Why

I can't understand why the RC-6 has a 2 second delay feature?

I'm going with the "selfie" picture. The delay is to let you hide it before the camera takes the picture.

I use a little RC-1 IR remote trigger all the time, on two seconds delay. It's like a remote release cable, but easier.

I have a 270EXII flash which also has a built in remote. It actually says in the manual about the delay to allow you to hide the remote (I can't believe I read the manual for the flash...)

The IR sensors are typically on the front of the camera and you need the delay to avoid having yourself (or your hand) in the shot with wide lenses.

It became apparent last night when I shot my first long exposure shoot. As Bob said I got very paranoid about my hand appearing in the shot every time I pointed the remote at the sensor on the front of the camera. [GALLERY=][/GALLERY]
