Looking to try some macro togging.
Where would you buy a Raynox DCR-250?
They've got them on Amazon for £40 + delivery. is that a good price?

I think that is... I got mine from ebay (Poland) about 18 months or so ago, and it was only a little less... I've seen them selling for more than that.

I just looked to see what I paid for mine from Amazon a couple of months ago, it was £35.99 with free delivery. Must have gone up a bit since then!
£45.00 on ebay with free delivery, about a quid cheaper.
Go for it mate! great little bit of kit!

Thanks for your replies John, Baz and Graham.

Two suppliers on Amazon for the 250: BritishBargains and Digitaltoyshop. Anyone used them?

I read a bad review of Britishbargains on the Wild About Britain forum.

BTW - love your avatar Baz

Well, to be fair to them, British Bargains that is, the feedback is pretty good, with only a couple of disgruntled buyers. One of which can be dismissed as he wanted it delivered outside of UK. I have not used them myself, but with the returns policy that Amazon have, I probably wouldnt hesitate!
DigitalToyshop look like a new seller with only 8 feedback, but 100% so far. So your call on that one!

Ordered mine from ebay last Friday from foto-tip (poland) has over 8k feedback so should be fine.

Hey Baz, I hadn't spotted that thread... made my day:lol:...the ladies must really be drooling over all those hunks:D

I have a canon g9 and want to buy one but am a bit mystified how you would fit it. There is a Flikr group that are very enthusiastic but do I need more than the raynox and the adaptor. Where does the barrel go???

Well I've ordered one from Poland via ebay for £45 including delivery.
BritishBargains on Amazon had too much bad feedback for me to trust them.
Hoping it arrives by the weekend so I can have a play.

Got mine from Poland in three days! And cheaper than BB

When I looked at BritishBargains' amazon feedback more than 6% gave neutral or negative feedback. Mostly complaining about poor communication and slow or non delivery. They obviously have thousands of satisfied customers, but I didn't want to be one of those 1 in 20 who got poor service.

Anyway, was out in the garden yesterday looking for bugs - spent 2 hours and only got one half decent pic - lol. Practice, practice, practice...
