As per the title, I'm looking for some guidance regarding Rayflash suitablity for the 360AFDN speedlite. Looking at the Rayfash website the only flashguns stated for use are the Canon 580EX , Canon 580EXII and Nikon SB-800.

TIA

IIRC the 360 head is smaller than the 580's , so will need a little cardboard (?) packing to ensure a secure fit. Other than that function should be the same as with any other gun.

Cheers for the reply Russell.

So the height of the 360 and 580 are pretty much the same, *thinks of Rayflash mounting bracketry to ringflash assembly dimension to ensure it loops over the lens and fits (with packing) onto flashgun head.

There's about 150mm from the bottom edge of the gun aperture to the center of the lens ring/aperture and 150mm dia aperture for the lens to pop through. This may change between makers but should be a reasonable guide.

Although the rayflash does not weigh much, it is only supported by the head and hot shoe!

This may help shed some light!

You might be better with an Orbis, they are "universal" and as they mount the other way round from the Rayflash their are no height issues

In this pic the Orbis is mounted on an SB-800 which is itself mounted on a lightstand
