Took my first RAW shots today of my daughter. Yet to view them though! Too nervous!!!!

Goint to use the Canon software to view them etc.

Isnt there another huge long thread about you and raw files... perhaps a mod can add this to it instead of starting another one.

I haven't taken any photos today. Or yesterday. Or the day before. Or...

I mean, I even got a new lens and everything. Still no photos. :suspect:

Ooops, sorry. was so excited that i forgot! Sorry

Whats your point?

A camera is for shooting images
Your daughter is your daughter
A computer is used for editing images - whats to be nervous about?

Go and shoot some more pictures, and get on with things

Well, never shot RAW before and i knnow it needs some editing. Afraid i will mess it up!! Going to transfer them to the PC tomorrow when i have taken a few more.

Fickle,,you won't mess up.. If you're using DPP, you can always undo any changes..

Just put the RAW image up on the screen in DPP and have a play around with the adjustment sliders.. Convert your RAW images into Jpeg to your normal photo folder.. When you close DPP you'll be asked if you want to save any changes,, click yes to all.. When you re-open DPP where those RAW images are you can undo any changes..

Cant you just do it without putting every breath you take on here???

Then show us the pictures.

I shoot JPG/RAW, set the camera to your liking in JPG, set menu to RAW/JPG. Play with the RAW files on the computer to your hearts content, JPG is a safety net, (in the mind) ;) I review my photos 1st time as JPG's, choose the ones I think are worth working on, then go to the RAW version and work them up to my liking, often ending up close to the JPG version . . .

"I do it, my way . . . ", CJS
